DIB-V progesterone insert for cattle Indications for heifers and cows - Treatment of post partum anoestrus (non cycling) cows
- Control of oestrus cycle in maiden heifers and cows
- To enable synchronisation for
- Embryo collection and transfer programmes
- Controlled artificial insemination (AI)
Dose – one DIB-V per animal
DIB-V is recommended for use in conjunction with GnRH and Prostaglandin – refer product label for details of the DIB-Synch program Presentation – foil bag containing ten intravaginal inserts with tails. NZ veterinary medicine A10319, registered in NZ pursuant to the ACVM Act 1997. Efficacy - the DIB-V progesterone insert provided equivalent pregnancy rates when compared with the most commonly used progesterone insert in NZ, in a recent large scale clinical trial in 2300 non cycling cows across 15 dairy herds in NZ (refer VetScript article below). This finding was consistent with extensive use of DIB-V as the market leading progesterone insert in South American cattle during the past decade.
Cow comfort - NZ farmers reported cows treated with DIB-V during Spring 2010 appeared more comfortable, strained less, and defecated less during milking compared with other inserts.
